I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to read.
And, I'll pretty much read anything...at least once. Some of my favorite books I read every year. When I was single, I would consistently fall asleep reading only to wake up later with the light still on, book in hand. And just thinking about spending the day out at the river under the hot sun with a book makes me wish summer would hurry up and get here.
I really gained my love for books as a kid reading Nancy Drew. I would stay up super late at night, reading the suspenseful books, picturing myself in Nancy Drew's shoes. I even wanted to be the first female detective until one night while watching the news with my folks I realized they already had female detectives. Scratch that idea! Still, my love of reading continued.
I remember sitting in front of the heater as a little kid, sobbing away while reading Little Women. Poor Beth. To this day, I still cry a lot while reading books. They just move me.
Thankfully, BJ loves to read just as much as I do. Or maybe I love to read just as much as he does. Either way, it's something we both enjoy tremendously, and we love to share what we're reading with each other. Classic BJ behavior is to get so excited about something he's reading that he just has to share it with me. This goes on for a while until suddenly he's ready to go to bed, and I've barely gotten to read my own book!
My plan here is to start sharing book reviews. Nothing extraordinary, just highlights of different books I'm reading, have read, I'd recommend or wouldn't. You get the picture. So, check back if you also love to read or if you have any book recommendations, let me know and I'll add them to my list.

Baby & Her Bumbo
We got Baby Grace a bumbo. I was very excited...as you can see, it took Grace a little longer to warm up to her new seat.
She seems to really like sitting in it now. She's at the point where she wants to be able to see all that's going on around her. Her new little seat helps do just that.
This last one is my favorite. For whatever reason, it totally reminds me of my late Grandpa, Puck. He used to tape movies for us all the time when we were kids. We'd get boxes of VHS' in the mail, chock full of all our favorites. I mean, we're talking hundreds and hundreds of movies. He'd program the VCR and sometimes just stay up late to manually edit out the commercials for us. What love! How I miss him!Sunday, February 14, 2010
3 1/2 months old

At this age, Grace...
weighs 14 lbs. 1 oz.
is way over 23 1/2 in. long (this was her last measurement a month ago!)
eats 5-6 times a day
reaches for her toys, blankets and anything else she can get her hands on
which she then puts directly into her mouth
is drooling a lot, but no sign of teeth yet
tries to stand and sit with help
scoots on her back--she's gotten pretty far doing this
is straining to roll over, gets frustrated that she can't do it yet
smiles
has laughed a few times
loves to talk, talk, talk...she's got a lot to say and we love to listen
