30! Years Old

Yes. 30. Yesterday I turned 30. I'm going to have to keep saying it because I still can't believe it!

I woke up a little sad and missing my dad, wishing he was around for this milestone. But as the day went along, it got better.

Allow me to brag about my husband for just a moment. Beej did an amazing job of making a difficult day extra special. On "Kate Eve" (his words), he surprised me with two books. On my actual birthday he tried to let me sleep in--I only say tried because at this point in my pregnancy, I'm just not sleeping that great. He gifted me "Young Victoria" before leaving for work. He walked through the door later that day with a beautiful bouquet of flowers--I LOVE flowers! He brought home my favorite pizza (we are going out to celebrate on Saturday night) for dinner and chocolate covered gummi bears for dessert (technically these were from our little boy who also loves chocolate). He wrote me a beautiful letter that, as usual, made me cry. After eating, he gifted me a pair of earrings I've been wanting. He curled up and watched my new movie with me after we put Grace to bed. When I turned back the covers at the end of the night, I found two magazines--one on parenting that I wanted a subscription to (this was from Grace). And I didn't change a single diaper while he was around!

Really, thank you so much Beej for making my 30th birthday one I will remember sweetly.

Do birthdays make you think back on your life? Do they make you think about the future?

They say in NY that 40 is the new 30. So if you follow that rule, 30 is the new 20~so your still a baby! (You're a baby at 30 too. Just wait till you hit 47) Glad you had a wonderful day. And I love, love, love The Young Victoria! xo <3

I like that movie too. Although, I think Emily Blunt is almost too beautiful... it's distracting!

Way to come through again BJ!

Love you, Kate, and can't wait to meet the best "thing" that you've received as a 30-year-old... ADON!

Miss you guys!
